Stevie’s roots as a solo performer were laid down some 15 years ago busking and playing floor spots at local folk clubs. In the early 90's he spent two years in Germany, extensively gigging - mainly on the Irish Music Pub circuit , as one half of folk/rock duo Acres Wild. Playing original material alongside a wide range of covers they built up a good reputation, and the experience provided him with a wealth of inspiration (and hangovers).
On return to his native Northants Stevie continued to write songs and perform live, both as a solo artist and with the acoustic combo, Treehouse
He has appeared on the same bill as Martin Stephenson, Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey, Ezio and more recently he supported Nick Harper at The Musician in Leicester. Recent trips over to Ireland have also seen him play regular gigs with Irish duo Reverie in Kilkenny and Dublin.
His powerful and original acoustic-based songs are always delivered straight from the heart, with influences touching Van Morrison, The Waterboys, early David Gray, Folk, Rock, and much more.
His debut album ‘New Life’, recorded over the last 12 months, is out March 2006 on Ditch Monkey Records in association with Coalshed Music. An extensive number of promotional dates are being lined up for 2006 - including a headline slot at The Musician Leicester on Weds 8th March.
