Formed in 2005, Ruby Muse highlights the songwriting of Jools and Malcolm Heyes.
On stage, together with Hannah Gimeno, they create a distinctive mix of lyrical guitar-oriented acoustic rock – with folk, blues, jazz and poetic influences – seasoned with a cajun feel from fiddle and mandolin.
Experienced musicians, strong on rhythm, harmony and texture, they deliver either as a virtually acoustic trio, or as a full five-piece band with solid backline supporting the core unplugged feel.
Jools Heyes - vocals, rhythm guitar, mandolin
Malcolm Heyes - lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
Hannah Gimeno - violin, vocals and percussion
If you like meaningful music – adult oriented, thoughtful lyrics – laced with blues-country and jazz overtones, rocky but with an acoustic ambience – you'll like Ruby Muse. The sound is original, with songs that are straight from the heart, featuring strong beats, guitars, violin and mandolin in a soulful mix of footstompers and gentle epic songs.
