The hot news is that Kevin Buxton and Kontra band's new full length CD, DOWN ANY ROAD, is
finally complete, and to celebrate its release we're having a launch
gig at top Bedford roots venue, THE ENT SHED on Saturday 28th October.
(The Ent Shed is at the Gordon Arms on Castle Road, Bedford, MK40 3QY). The evening also marks the launch of independent roots record label,
Coalshed Music, who have recorded and released the CD.
We are all extremely pleased with the new album, and fans will be delighted to hear that it contains all the songs that have become firm audience favourites at K&KB gigs over the last year.
Supporting
the band at The Ent Shed will be several acts either associated with the
label or with the band: Ruby Muse, Martin Nelson, Brendan Read-Jones, and
April Elizanbeth, plus a variety of fine musicians accompanying them.
Kevin and the band will be playing the whole of the new album live
at the gig, where their usual line-up will be augmented by several
excellent guest players. It promises to be a great night at a great
little venue, so we do hope you can make it along and support them.
The show starts at 8.00 and admission is £8, although K&KB mailing list subscribers get in for £6 when they present a print of the latest mailing missive.
Anyway, hope to see you on Saturday 28th. Also, on the same day, if you tune in to BBC Radio Northampton (104.2, 103.6FM) at 1.45pm, you'll hear K&KB playing a live session on the Richard Jordan Show, which will feature songs from the new album. Should be a lot of fun.
