About Us

Coalshed Music was formed in 2005 as a facility for the numerous roots and acoustic musicians residing and performing in the South-East Midlands region of the UK. Now relocated to Looe in Cornwall, we hope to serve the many fine acts here in the South West.

Founders Rick Connolly and Donna Whitlock, armed with a passion for new music, set up this Cornwall based record label with the aim of nurturing gifted and original musicians, who might otherwise be ignored by the music industry, and providing them with the opportunities to develop their full potential.

Submitting a Demo

The only rule for submitting a demo is that the music must be outstanding. Though we specialize in acoustic and roots music, we will consider most musical genres. We receive many submissions, and as a consequence responding to them all can take time, but your music will be listened to and carefully assessed. We accept all recording formats.
